The Next Iron Maiden

For those of you that appreciate a good throwback to '80's rock, Black Tide is the way to go. The young group (literally) from Miami, Florida has released their first album "Light From Above" and are on their way to this summers Rockstar's Energy Drink MayhemFest. The catch is, no one in the band is over the age of 20, including their 15-year old frontman. Now I don't know what you were doing at the age of 15, but I don't think it was performing at metal's new main-event and headlining bands like Disturbed or Slipknot. With any luck, these kids will be on their way to success that has stayed with groups like Megadeth, Iron Maiden and other great bands.

Punisher: War Zone Movie Teaser Poster

Almost an after thought amidst the electric buzz surrounding the news of their Avenger related heroes, Marvel has released the teaser poster for the sequel/reboot of the Punisher.

This time Vigilante-hero Frank Castle returns to the big screen and is set to go up against the villain Jigsaw, formerly mob boss Billy Russoti who has been left horribly disfigured by Castle. Check out the teaser poster for the Punisher: War Zone movie coming in December.

Whedon, Abrams and Fox...oh my

Script reviews for “Fringe,” the new J.J. Abrams sci-fi pilot starring Joshua Jackson and “Dollhouse,” the new Joss Whedon sci-fi pilot starring Eliza Dushku have been posted by Daniel Fienberg over at  Zap2It.
Both series are expected to be announced as part of the 2008-2009 schedule on FOX.

After Dark Casting News

The top 20 finalists up for parts in Perkins 14, the Massify and After Dark Feature, have been posted on their blog.  Voting opens on May 15th so head on over and check out their first-round auditions.

Perkins 14, which won the pitch portion of the open online contest will be produced by After Dark Films and in theaters for Horrorfest 2008.

News: After Dark To Start Producing Its Own Movies

According to The Hollywood Reporter, After Dark Films has announced the first horror films set for its 2008, 8 Films to Die For theatrical film series. They include Sean Ellis' "The Broken", Stewart Hopewell's "Faithless" and Craig Singer's "Perkins' 14".

"Perkins' 14" was developed from the winning entry by Jeremy Donaldson in a February Massify.com online pitch contest.  Which is a killer thriller involving the arrest of a suspected murderer. Lane Shadgett is scripting while contest winner Donaldson, Milburn and Kuipers will produce.

Scripting for "Faithless will be handled by Hopewell and Tim Long, with Chris Milburn, Matthew Kuipers, Aimee Barth and Eryl Cochran Woodlief producing.

The trio of Courtney Solomon, Laura Ivey and Stephanie Caleb will executive produce for After Dark, with Beau J. Genot as co-producer on both films. Shooting for both films will begin this month in Romania.
