Who Ya Gonna Call...GhostBusters 3

In a conversation with MTV news Harold Ramis has confirmed a new Ghostbusters movie is in the works. The Original cast is expected to reprise their roles with their characters becoming "sage mentors" to new a new team, in a passing of the proton packs to a new generation of Ghostbusters.
Though the first draft of the script is apparently still in the works, Judd Apatow is signed on as at least a producer so thus far the casting rumors have been hovering around members of the "Apatowverse" Paul Rudd and Seth Rogen being tapped to take up the fight.
Taking into consideration the track records of the parties involved, I believe this will be a worthy sequel/reboot of the franchise and I'm actually enthused about this project coming together.
What do you think?

Free Fox - Oh Yeah!

The dreams of many men has come true as starlet Megan Fox is "back on the market". Fox, who had been dating Brian Austin Green since 2004, has officially called off her plans to marry Green, something that has been in the works since 2006. Apparently the relationship has been on the rocks since Green failed to escort Fox to the Golden Globes earlier this year - though apparently the two are ending on friendly terms. Now the question remains, what will she do with the tattoo of his name on her hip? (If she changes the "I" to a "Y", she can go out with me!! Hey, a guy can dream!)

"In a world..." without Don LaFontaine

Best known as the "Voice-over guy" from movie trailers, and most predominately known for the phrase "In a world where...." Don LaFontaine passed away Monday of complications from a lung-related illness. While the industry now uses others to imitate LaFontaine's work... none will ever quite be as well remembered as Don.

Theroux to Script Iron Man Sequel

Source: Variety via Superherohype

Rather than stay with what worked so effectively ($560M+) in their first at bat, Marvel Studios has apparently decided to fix what ain't broke by bringing in a new scribe for the hotly anticipated Iron Man sequel. The fact that Justin Theroux is coming off Tropic Thunder with Robert Downey Jr., probably helped him land the gig is all well and wonderful, but it can’t really be seen by the fans as a ringing endorsement. The fact that Marvel is willing to mess with a wildly successful writing formula for someone with a single screen writing credit doesn’t make sense. If it were possible to just plug anyone in as a scriptwriter or a director, then Batman & Robin wouldn’t have necessitated Batman Begins and there wouldn’t have been a need for The Incredible Hulk to reboot that franchise (Not to mention the Richard Lester mess inspiring the Richard Donner fan cut of Superman II.).This is not to say that this news is bad news. Thoroux might be the next Nolan/Goyer. But, at least they had the kind of track record that said these guys have something to bring to the table. At least director Jon Favreau has reached a deal with Marvel Studios and will be back at the helm and be available for rewrites if needed.

Classics Remake

Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez are set to remake movie classics "Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!" and "Red Sonja". And their choice of leading ladies is quite interesting too. Tarantino has approached porn star Tera Patrick to play Tura Satana's role of Varla in Russ Meyers "Faster, Pussycat!" and Patrick is all in favor of it saying "I was built for this part."
Robert Rodriguez has asked girlfriend Rose McGowan to take on Brigitte Nielsen's leading lady of "Red Sonja". Rose claims she not sure why she was asked to play the part, but Rodriguez counters saying his gal is perfect for the role.

While neither Rose or Tera aren't obvious choices amongst your average viewer, both directors are more than confident their leading ladies are obvious choices and won't result in catastrophe like so many other remakes.

Indi Gold

After six weeks in theaters and still playing in over 2500 theaters, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull looks to be the next film to follow in the steps of Marvels Iron Man. As of this last weekend, Indy Jones is currently sitting at $299.9 million and will be the second film of the year to break the $300 million mark and is seemingly ahead of where Iron Man was at this same point (Iron Man was only at $288.8 million in week six). Can Harrison's newest turn as Indiana Jones "whip" current box office wonder Iron Man, or will he come up short ("Damn, I thought that was closer.")?
